Forged on the anvil of #BlackLivesMatter, DiversityNumbers is a project with the goal of making employer diversity reports, otherwise known as EEO-1 reports, a public record. Just as citizens have the ability to monitor a company’s financial information through quarterly financial statements, they should also have the ability to monitor the diversity information of companies to help them make informed choices. Specifically, we believe that people should be able to know if a company is hiring Blacks, Latinxs and other under-represented people throughout their organizations, including in Executive ranks and other high-paying, influential roles. Transparent access to regularly published diversity reports promises to put the power of the marketplace behind the will to achieve a more just, more fair world.
